Electrocute

ElectroCute (電亟愛) is one of Southern Taiwan's most kick ass punk rock bands. They combine the dirtiest breakneck rock 'n' roll riffs, savage power chords, ripping solos with a the sweetest pop melodies. Electrocute is one act that is not to be missed! They played at the SanBa March of the Ladies' Party at ATT on 3/28. They also performed at the official Spring Scream 2009 Concert in Kenting.

The Blue Truckers

This Reggae act features members from Australia, Canada, Scotland, and the US.

Check out this video and then come check them out at the April Anniversary Party at Join US in Kaohsiung on April 25th!

T-Bone and Yasu

T- Bone has performed all over Taiwan playing in bands and appearing solo. Yasu is a percussionist from Tokyo, Japan where his extensive professional career includes work with X Japan (!) and its members, Stranger than Paradise, and countless others. Using variations of tempo and time signatures, as well as unique chord structures and rhythms, T-Bone and Yasu’s music creates interesting and original textures. Playing beyond a “guitar and a box”, they tackle arrangements that might normally be reserved for full bands.

High Tide

2008 ICRT Battle of the Bands Winner High Tide
Here they are with some fans at JOIN-Us...

High Tide & SanBa Girls

These guys rocked at Down South in December and have played a host of big venues up north. We were really excited to get them down for their first show in Kaohsiung...

They have a big sound and even bigger hearts for Jamaican music, High Tide plays reggae, ska and live dub. A heavyweight rhythm section, soaring melodies, tight harmonies and conscious lyrics are the cornerstones of their sound.

Jessie Morden Green (CAN) and Moshe Foster (USA) on Vocals and guitars, Andrew Francis (USA) on trombone, Mike Tennant (CAN) on bass and Gregory Russell (NZ) on the drums are serving a big, irie’ slice of one drop in little Taiwan.

You can check High Tide out on MySpace and Facebook too!

Rockin' it at the SanBa Party

Matzka & DeHot

Matzka & DeHot, also known as the Song CD Farmers, are among Taiwan's most famous aboriginal musical acts.

They recently won the indigenous musical category at the fifth annual Taiwan Original Music Awards.

Matzka and DeHot have a unique sound that blends reggae with rock - Taiwan Style. Check out pics and vids below!

They performed on January 26th at the Aboriginal Invitational in Pingtung County.

Aboriginal Invitational pics are here.

The Money$hot Horns

The Money Shot Horns are by definition Taiwan’s only funk superband.

Here are all the clips from their recent gig at the Jazzfest in Taichung:

Uli and the Rulers

Uli and the Rulers are a dry and heavy rocksteady outfit.

Three of the members are former members of the momma's funk revival band The Mooks. They come from Tainan and like to bring half the town with them.

Uli and the Rulers played Mid November Madness and and headlined Down South in December as well...
